The Law of God required “complete” perfection..
“Therefore you shall be perfect just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”
Since man cannot keep God’s perfect Law, then why was it given?
It was given to impute sin…God did not keep an account of sins before the giving of the Law of Moses..
And the Law was also given to help point man to the righteousness of Christ as they were helpless in attaining righteousness on their own…
Although sin was already in the world, from Adam – Moses, yet God could not impute man’s sin until the Law was given at Mt. Sinai..
“13..for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14..Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come.” Rom 5:13-14
4..Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due.
5..But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,
6..just as David also speaks of the blessing on the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works.” Rom 4:4-6
Look, Torah Keeper, you can observe the laws until the cows come home, but it will not make you one whit closer to God or justified in His sight…
“For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in ALL THINGS which are written in the book of the law to do them.” Gal 3:10
“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.” Isa 64:6
“Unclean” means that the people were unfit for God’s presence even though they observed the law..
“Filthy garment” refers to a garment stained during a menstrual cycle..
There is NO redemption in keeping a law when the heart is full of sin…
Only Christ can cleanse the inside of a man and make him a new creation.. 2 Cor 5:17
Isa 1:18 speaks of man’s future salvation..Christ’s blood cleanses us from ALL sin…
“…Says the LORD, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.”
” For as many as have sinned without law, will also perish without law, and as many as have sinned in the law, will be judged by the law.”
Take heed, Torah observer, if you insist on being under the law, you will be judged by the law and that without mercy or grace…and will be found “wanting” at the gate of heaven”
With these words: ” Depart from ME, I never knew you…” :O
